New Policy! Now Buy Fast Food Can Use Bitcoin

New Policy! Now Buy Fast Food Can Use Bitcoin

The local government will also launch its Bitcoin Law on “fast food buying and selling” in the near future.

With a very unstable curve like the graph above, the actions of the government of El Salvador have again received a lot of criticism.

Not only from neighboring countries, financial institutions and part of the population also do not approve of this new policy.

Some claim that approval and implementation happened too quickly. The local government is expected to pay more attention to the long term of the plan.

Analysts predict that the general public and businesses in El Salvador will eventually lack the "right tools" that are designated as currency.

Meanwhile, the local government defended by arguing that everything should be done quickly or risky rather than not being done at all.

Experiment Buying Food Using BTC

Journalist Aaron Van Wirdum, reports that he managed to make a McDonald's purchase using the Lightning Network. This was uploaded by Van Wirdum via a tweet on his Twitter account.

Initially Van Wirdum hoped that the infrastructure would not be ready on the first day and could cover the news. But surprisingly, it turned out to be wrong.

Directly Supported By The President

The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, participated in providing the report. Not only McDonald's, Bukele invites its citizens to taste Pizza Hut with BTC.

Simultaneously, Nayib Bukele also shared a tutorial on how to use the 'Chivo' wallet and gave an official announcement when his country could buy more BTC.

Despite the controversy, there are so many people who see the benefits of transacting in this form of digital money as a positive thing.

Responding to the confusing issues, BTC user Joshua Schultz commented

“What nobody in #ElSalvador talks about is the fact that when I pay #bitcoin at Starbucks for a cup of coffee, the retailer gets the full amount not the remainder after the Visa MasterCard takes the cut. It's going to be big for retailers." Says Schultz reported by Bitcoinist.

To date, Bukele has reported on several large companies inside and outside Latin America starting to adopt BTC.
