2021 has seen a huge increase in interest around NFTs, with Google search interest for NFT reaching the highest ever.
NFT markets such as Nifty Gateway and OpenSea are posting record trading volumes because everyone wants to enter these markets.
In the past six months, nine of the ten most expensive NFTs of all time were sold, indicating strong investor interest in the industry. With that in mind, here are the most expensive NFTs ever sold.

4. The First Tweet $ 2.9 Million
The NFT version of Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey's first tweet. This is the first tweet on Twitter, auctioned off throughout March 2021 and eventually selling for $ 2.9 million, around Rp.422 million.
The tokens are token printed via a platform known as Valuables which allows users to create NFTs that represent their tweets.
5. CryptoPunk # 6965: $ 1.54 Million
The second CryptoPunk on this list where the number # 6965 features a funky fedora style and unimpressed expression.
It sold for $ 1.54 million in February. CryptoPunk is one of the 24 Ape Punks, which is the second rarest type of Punk after aliens.
6. Auction Winner Picks Name: $ 1.33 Million
American DJ and dance music producer 3LAU recently collaborated with digital collage artist Slimesunday to produce Auction Winner Picks Name an NFT that sells for $ 1.33 million, equivalent to Rp.193 million on Nifty Gateway.
7. CryptoPunk # 4156: $ 1.3 Million
CryptoPunk # 4156 is another punk that has netted over $ 1 million in public auctions.
Much like the slightly more expensive CryptoPunk # 6965, CryptoPunk # 4156 is a rare ape type token, but uses a blue bandana.
According to the Larva Labs website, CryptoPunk has sold for $ 25,247 on average in the past 12 months, making CryptoPunk # 4156 worth the equivalent of the lower 51.5 CryptoPunks.
8.Not Forgotten, But Gone: $ 1 Million
WhIsBe, a contemporary artist in New York City, is behind the NFT series depicting gummy bears in various creative forms.
To date, the 16-second video of a rotating gummy bear skeleton entitled “Not Forgotten, But Gone” is the most expensive NFT by artist WhIsBe. It is selling for a hefty $ 1 million equivalent to Rp.145 million at Nifty Gateway.
9. Hairy: 888,888
Musician, fashion designer and entrepreneur Steve Aoki recently collaborated with 3D illustrator Antoni Tudisco to produce an eclectic piece known as 'Hairy'.
The NFT sold for $ 888,888, around Rp.118 million in a record-breaking auction for the Nifty Gateway and entitles the user to the Infinite Objects physical screen featuring the NFT.
10.The Complete MF Collection: $ 777,777
The Complete MF Collection is one of Beeple's masterpieces and features videos of all the other artworks sold as part of the collection.
The token is the most expensive single-edition token sold at Beeple's 'The 2020 Collection' and was purchased by NFT art collector Tim Kang for $ 777,777 around Rp.100 million.
